So, now that guys can go straight to the GLeague, how are they faring? I wish I could say that they weren't doing too well and could use some college experience....but that's not necessarily been the case.
The four guys that went straight to the Gleague (there were 5, but one has to quarantine after playing for the Philippines national team), all seem to be doing okay... they're all on the GLeague Ignite team, and are 2-0 with Joel Ntambwe's brother (Jonathan Kuminga) leading the team in scoring. Daishen Nix had 12 pts his first game, but followed it up with a goose egg in his second game... they're playing right now though and Nix is leading the team in scoring in the 3rd with 16 pts... Jalen Green is averaging 16 pts over 2 games & the other player, Isaiah Todd, looks to be doing okay too.
Of course, with LaMelo Ball looking like he might get a triple double on the regular by the end of the NBA season, the case for college basketball, at least for elite players, may be coming to an end sooner than later... like in the next 2 to 3 years.
