Senior RB Darran Williams apparently suffered a heart attack during a team workout Tuesday. In a 72 hour medical induced coma.

Pray for the best for the young man.

Just as note, the review journal said it was during warmups so this wasnt a case of a coach pushing players past their limits. Hopefully he recovers fully though. That will always be more important than football.

100% Darran's health is more important than football. But it is important that it happened in warmups. Even though Fyle wasn't at Maryland when the tragic player death happened there under Durkin, it could be a terrible "oversight" sort of for that to have happened. That said, I would guess that Fyle, being at Maryland after that happened, will have had an extreme abundance of caution to look out for those signs.

Also worth noting, probably best for Darran that it happened in a team sponsored event. Trainers on site, doc nearby. Probably also a good sign financially to handle that side of it since it happened in a team activity. No doubt that above all, his health is the most important factor... just bringing up other things...

I read that earlier today, and didn't know that it was bad enough to be in a coma. I hope the best for him!

Medically induced. Presumably to try to figure out what happened. Not a doctor or any aspiration of the medical field... but medically induced is probably better than forced. Fact they they also mentioned he was stable before they induced the coma is a great sign.

A heart attack at a younger age is usually fatal.

Hope the kid pulls through

Message from Darran Williams' dad. Darran won't be able to play for #UNLVfb anymore, but he'll still be involved in the program.

I wonder if he becomes an undergrad assistant? Not sure if he's graduated or not.

Either way, really happy to see that it seems like the scariest part is in the past. Hope all the testing show something conclusive and favorable.
