Regarding Sanchez I do believe that he knew he was walking into a bad situation here at UNLV but he had a plan to turn the program around. It hasn’t happened as quickly as he or we had hoped but it is happening. There has been a few pick ups that should make a huge difference for both the offense and especially the defense. It only takes a few key players in the MWC to make a huge difference.

DRF is doing a number of things that haven’t been done before to raise interest, awareness and a sense of being appreciated. I know they aren’t going to present me with a gold watch or anything of value but as a season ticket holder I received an email to attend an event at Sam Boyd Stadium on August 24. I will be attending as will BornRebelRed. I have no idea what it will be, maybe a first look at the team, who knows but it is something.

As an RAF contributor I received an invitation to attend an event at the Aria on August 29 in one of the ballrooms. Again I have no idea what will transpire and again there will be no gold watch but it is something they are doing to show appreciation just like the big programs do and I for one appreciate their efforts.

CTS & DRF are both highly motivated and successful people and there is no doubt in my mind they will both be successful here.

On a side note I am thrilled with OTZ. I have always subscribed to the theory that you have to outscore the other team to win.

Go Rebels!

Nice to hear they are doing things to cultivate support. Can't simply plow the field, plant, fertilize, and water the seeds, and then just walk away, coming back in two-three months with a basket to load your harvest in. Doesn't work like. There's tending to do along the way, otherwise you never have a harvest.

I would love to know how season tickets sales are going for UNLV football. A few months ago they said there was a nice boost in season ticket sales, but I haven't read anything since.

They held both these events last year for the first time, I believe. For the one at SBS for season ticketholders, it's food & drinks, you watch the guys practice and then they do autographs. I didn't stay for the autographs as the first part took WAY too long but at least you're in the A/C. Sanchez & DRF spoke also.
For the Aria deal, it's for the RAF members and it was GOOD FOOD & drinks and some announcements by DRF, Drive for Five leaders, RAF leaders, etc. Of course lots of mingling with your fellow Rebel fans at both events. No gold watches, sorry hon!! :)

I thought I heard a %400 increase ????

We have around 5k current season ticket holders.

Not sure if that was total or vs new season ticket purchases from prior year.

Total would mean around 20k season ticket holders heading into this season.

That seems way high even with being able to lock in pricing for seats at new stadium.

It's got to be an increase over last year...

Anybody have actual season tickets sold for this coming season?

The 400% increase is really skewed. I think it was a 400% increase at that point was in regards to new season ticket sales. I think it was a total of under 1000 new season ticket sales, but if that has continued, I could see 7K-10K season ticket sales which would be a really nice jump!

If this is true there will be a great selection of cheap tickets on Craigslist.

Yeah definitely.

Either way it is good.

I hope both are. I'd put DRF at 50/50. CTS is about to run out of rope. He's has been slow to recognize some mistakes(if he has) and has given himself some self-inflicted wounds. I hope we see some major growth by Tony this year. If we only get marginal growth/ same Tony, he's gone-zo, which sucks because he checks a lot of boxes.
