Chris Beard's first hire

Chris Beard has hired Tennessee's Chris Ogden as associate head coach. He has been linked to HC openings at Stephen P. Austin & Texas-Arlington. He made $225,000 @Tenn. He is said to have had a hand in assembling 5 top 10 recruiting classes as ranked by ESPN. Seems like a solid hire but does that leave room for Ryan Miller on staff.

Well, after Ogden, he stuck with his known guys from Arkansas, i.e., Mark Adams and Brian Burg. Still 1 spot left, maybe for Miller.

Ogden apparently had a role in recruiting Findlay's Avery Bradley to Texas.

There's lots of places to recruit from. They don't have to be the same places where Miller was working. Can't wait to hear who/what these guys come up with.

I personally have a hard time distinguishing between "had a role" meaning played some instrumental part in securing his commitment, or "had a role" meaning happened to be a minor coach on the team when the kid was recruited.....

Anyway, it's Chris Beard's bus now. He will live or day by his hires and recruits, so let the living or dying commence.
