Izzo visited him earlier this month. Syracuse and Connecticut were after him too. That's not a bad sign.
Fair to assume the Conn. connection means this is Coach LaFleur's first score?
beating out some so-so coaches for his services isn't too shabby. have to give Menzies' credit for bringing in LaFleaur.
kid seems pretty raw, but we need bodies and you just can't teach size.
I think I read 78% FT and a decent touch from 17'. If that's the true, that's serious upside in a 6'11" frame.
This is a good get. It will also be telling to see how Cheickna develops under our new coaches. Also I am curious to see how long he stays. If he develops and stays, that would be a great sign. Time will tell.
I hope he can get cleared to play next season. The NCAA dirtbags always give guys outside of the U.S. & many times even from the U.S. (Derrick Jones) a hard time getting cleared so there may be a chance we don't see him until the '17-'18 season.
