next years recruiting class is relatively "bland". Zero five stars.
I'm looking at the grouping - Jackson, Johnson, Fisher and Vital.... And I still expect at least one more, probably two signings.. I REALLY LOVE the incoming class. In fact, functionally, I think it'll turn out to be UNLV's "best" class.
Getting a high level PG like Fisher, a guy who is ready to contribute at high D1 immediately, but is not an option to make the jump to NBA any time soon, is huge for this program. A pure point that can actually score in several ways and he's a staunch defender. Absolutely huge.
Then a guy like Jackson, a really good and versatile stretch 4/SF... His first game last night, I believe he went for 19 pts/21 Rebs/4 assists...
A mean bulldog who oozes attitude and can fill it up with shooting and a bruising style in Carlos....
Then a very tough, very coachable, high IQ, shooter type guard in Vital...
Can't forget Obepka who has been a beast for UNLV.
They got a little bit of everything so far in that class. It's really a well rounded class that should lessen any negative impact of transfers or early entries.
Still more work to do on the recruiting front but wow, I like what these guys are expected to contribute.
