Blake and Martinez both upgraded to 4-star prospects.

Hopefully they continue to rise in the Rankings and help get us back to Winning games in the NCAA Tourney and back to relevance Ranked on the Top 25! [smoke]

Maybe Coach Otz does have a good eye for talent although I'm confident Joe wouldn't rate them 4 stars.lol

UNLV commit Nick Blake jumps up to No. 98 in the latest ESPN rankings for the Class of 2020. Blake and fellow Rebels commit Jhaylon Martinez are both upgraded to 4-star prospects. http://www.espn.com/college-sports/...rankings/_/view/espnu100/sort/rank/class/2020
Pure hogwash. There is no way that these guys are worthy of 3 stars let alone 4 stars. I have read about their true and unbiased value right here on Rivals where you can always turn for the real scoop!

How much you want to bet on Martinez' overall contributions to UNLV?

But of course, you were upset that people didn't celebrate enough after slaughtering SUU in football even though there were no complaints.... it was SUU.... and now we see what we are, which is why nobody was celebrating SUU.... and, you also had Menzies' back big time, calling it the funnest Rebel team you've seen in many, many years... yeah, it was a treat....

Easy there big fella! Not sure that I ever called for a celebration over boat racing a D-2 team but what was bothering me was that there was no let up in the negativity. Couldn’t we be happy for the kids for once. Can’t people ever be happy anymore. I used to enjoy watching the news but I can’t take it any longer because there is no let up in the agenda pushing and attack on those with a different view and that has bled over into practically every facet of society.

As far as Martinez’ future at UNLV is concerned I haven’t ever seen him play nor have I ever made any predictions regarding how good he may become. I will hope and root for him to be great!

I still believe that when an institution brings in a coach that barring an embarrassing scandal they deserve more than 3 years to accomplish their goals. That said I do believe that OTZ has the potential to take us much further as a program than CMM. I also believe that Coach K has the ability to take us further than OTZ so should he want to come here next year do we get rid of him? I know some will say Hell Yes!

And yes I did enjoy watching these kids develop last year. I am tired of all the malcontents and big headed one and drones that never stuck around or played anything that resembled a team sport most of the time. I think we will see 2 of our former players go on to have some success and I will wish they had finished it out here. JN & JTT got picked up by big time programs. I was particularly impressed by JTT and think he could have been a huge piece for us. Time will tell.

There was very little negativity after beating SUU ...

Yeah. It was tremendous development last season... a lot of fans were happy with the development of the non-malcontents. It made a very bad season very shiny, I guess. You, me, and the other 1200 that bothered to show up for last season’s games were impressed with that amazing development... I guess.

As for being happy, you can be happy with good hoops, bad hoops, an amazing dunk or a missed layup. But don’t expect everybody else to react the same way. Especially when most think a fart doesn’t smell like a rose. You’re free to enjoy it, don’t expect others to enjoy it.

Hopefully this coach knows how to evaluate players. Some of Rice recruits I do not see how as anyone could have thought they were one and done. Zimmerman and Vaughn were not real good in anyway and you see the NBA agree.

They needed more time to develop, hasty decisions to leave early but that’s kind of the climate of that sort of thing nowadays.

They had ample talent as college freshman. We just needed to see them as sophomores and juniors and then you’d see really solid teams.
