And at the right time. Probably hasn't happened since UNLV won the MWCT titles under Kruger.
I'm not "happy" Tillman got hurt, but him getting hurt along with Elijah's return after Coleman held down the fort and Hamilton busted out.... the forced small ball was a blessing in disguise, it gave us better spread on the perimeter, more room to operate, and we turned it over less without Tillman.
Nice adjustment on the fly by the staff, the players were mentally prepared enough to step it up when they had to after a ton of rockiness early.
We are at the right speed heading into the tournament. We aren't the favorite, but I'd certainly consider UNLV to be a legitmate dark horse in the tournament. We've beaten every team but UNR. So it can be done. If we win Friday, I think we will be dancing, amazingly.
Regardless of the outcome, it's a great start to Otz' career here. It's either Cinderella or a strong building block at worst. That's impressive.
We still have a way to go before we become a legitimate at large type of team, but it's a good start.
He cleaned up the Munchies mess rather quickly, didn't he? That's what happens when you take the anti-millennial approach - when you focus, work hard, take nothing for granted and don't make a ton of excuses and constantly set up reasons for failure - you can grow instead of stagnate or go in reverse.
