Well because most of you won't read Graney's stuff, he and Mark Anderson reported that Beard won't be retaining Stacey.

So, if the other rumor is true and Beard is heading to Texas, then maybe Stacey will have his shot.

What a circus. Until all this calms down I am not paying for my season tickets.

If this happens...then this will truly go down as the lowest point for Rebel Basketball.

Stacey's still under contract right? God I hope he's still under contract. If I were Stacey I would demand the BOR come to the next meeting on their hands and knees, bearing gifts and begging(with actual tears) for him to please accept the head coaching job. I will not even waste my time going on twitter and following all the crap, and will just wait until something official comes out instead of joining the insanity.

One thing I do know is that we need to get rid of TKM. She is the equivalent of Robert Maxson II - except may do even more damage to the future of UNLV.

If Jessup doesn't get out in front of this and stop the madness, he may lose all credibility that he currently has!

Does anyone know the date when the contract for TKM runs out? Does it need to go back before the board of regents for an extension? Would like to know so can protest against her to the appropriate people.

The difference is that Maxson knew exactly what he was doing. TKM has no clue. What is worse, evil competence or well-intentioned incompetence?

Why? Menzies isn't a great head coach, but he's a head coach. Augmon has done nothing and said nothing that would give me any confidence that he could build and coach a program.

Let’s see, what has Augmon done? Hmm…Oh yeah, here’s something. He’s been immensely successful at everything he’s put his mind to. He turned himself from a below-the-radar high-schooler to an All-American, National Champion, Olympian and all-star NBA player with a 16-year professional career. I consider that something.

Yeah, I know, you’re going to say that he wasn’t a great assistant. I would disagree. First, he was under the constraints of Rice’s system. He supported his boss and friend as best he could. The obviously intense loyalty that he generated from the kids he coached speaks to his ability to relate. While Rice was also an ex-player, he achieved none of Stacey’s accomplishments.

In my opinion, he will bring his successful work-ethic and obvious knowledge of the game to a head-coaching position. And most of all, he’s a Rebel, through-and-through, who actually wants the job.

He has no experience as a head coach, and he showed nothing over the last 5 years that showed he would be a good one. It takes more than players on a 17 win team liking you to be a head coach.
