during the fall camp that there really isn't a QB competition going on. Decker was clearly the guy and now it is painfully obvious. Sneed does seem to posses the qualities that could potentially elevate him. He's a little cocky and has a good arm. It would have been great for him to graduate early and been on campus for the Spring Semester last year. Just don't know if he has been getting enough snaps in practice to have progressed much beyond where he was in camp.
That said I have pulled my hammy a number of times and that is just what it looked like to me. Hopefully Decker will be back in short order. It would be fun to see him & the Rebels have a year that exceeds the expectations of most. The defense is improving and if they can stay healthy we should be able to play with anybody in our conference with a healthy Decker.
Go Rebels!

As we all know the backup QB is always the most popular guy on the team. Ben Roethlisberger has 2 Super Bowl rings but go read the comment sections in the Pittsburgh Post Gazette, you would think he was Brian Hoyer or Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Palandech is really athletic and has a decent arm, but he lacks accuracy, touch and command of the pocket. They will have to get really creative with the run game as long as he is starting. I also hope they implement some more bubble screens, slip screens into the playbook to help him find a rhythm.

Based on the film of Jack Smith it seems like we have very different qbs between Palandech, Sneed, and Smith next year. The good thing about having Thomson was that he had a skill set similar to Decker. I m curious to see how the offense evolved next year. We might get stuck in a situation again where our back up is vastly different from our starter.

I am curious on Thomson's future. No inside knowledge just speculation. He will be in year three with the program, has never seen the field with a new staff that didn't recruit him. You start to wonder if he will want to go through another spring and fall camp with no guarantee of playing. Add in whether his elbow is even healthy enough to play next year. Again just speculation.

Smith and Sneed seem to have similar skill sets. Palandech is a whole different type of QB.

I think without question another JUCO QB will be brought in to compete for the job.

I honestly wish Sherry had stuck around. I think he would have preformed well under the current staff. His largest issue was confidence. His arm was like a howizter.

Hard to say. I really think his confidence was so shaken he was beyond repair. It's possible a change in staff might have helped. But his last couple of appearances were really bad. Shame because it looked like he was going to be a really good QB for us.

We should know more soon Decker had MRI today, personally take your lump Saturday at Michigan and get hime back after that for the winnable portion of the schedule.
I think he is listed as day to day now. This could be a little gamesmanship by the staff though. Maybe trying to make Michigan have to spend time preparing today. I would not be surprised if this continues all week long.

That's exactly what I was thinking when I read the announcement.

AS a Texans fan, I take offense that you had to use the Texans last 2 starting QBs as your example!
