1st. He's a walking cliché. We've had cliché ridden coaches before but he is ridiculous. Please - for once - just tell it like you really see it.

2nd. He is so............ boring. I can just see him firing up the players with a big yawn. There are loads of coaches that are laid back - but he carries it to the extreme.

Hard to give a meaningful interview when you're 0-14 and grasping at straws for the few fans you started with to keep caring.

And to get players fired up? They hear the noise. They see what people are saying about them being coached poorly.

No way he hasn't lost this team, is there?

Your 0-100 as a player you better not need a coach to fire you up. Look at your record use that as motivation. You play division 1 football. If your not getting the motivation at this level. I think it goes all the way to division 3.

And this comes back to CMA's talent evaluation and player development or lack thereof! Both physically and mentally.

Add free housing 2 cars a golf membership with Lon at Southern Highlands. A brand new office and Raiders season tickets. That’s another $150k a year.

Team appears to be just going through the motion at this point. They didn't look fired up at all. By playing all of these young players, CMA has set himself for a very good year in 2023, but only if he can hold the team that long. Sadly, I just don't see that being the case. Would be our best bet for someone to take him off of our hands like Iowa St did in basketball

I used to like the Reb Zone.

these days, I can barely last past the 15 minute mark and just not watch.

Don't give up on Arroyo just yet. I'm telling you the qb situation is a disaster when you have to start a kid that didn't have a senior year in high school. Friel is not the answer he's just the last man standing in the qb competition. Dougie 's got real potential and Jayden Maiava coming in next year. Just hang on.
Would be great if we get off the snide against New Mexico one win can get these guys rolling.

CMA isn't the only reason either, the Host seems ditzy to me.
I really like Paloma on Twitter and her interviews. Im not a fan of her Reb Zone style. The classic Bollinger approach worked for me. Now it feels almost like a social hour.

And I hate to say that, I really do. She's a talented reporter and news personality, but I dont think thats the best role for her.

Edit: spelling

Funny interview. Makes you realize how full of crap most fb interviews are.
Most interviews … there’s little investigative journalism, the kind of work that used to be worthy of awards.

Now it’s have the interviewee essentially write the questions or have the interviewer give a full heads up to the questions … many interviews are fluffed up PR pieces for the interviewee by the supposed impartial party, “The Press ™️“.

I’m not going to listen to it since he can’t justify why he didn’t try to work the ball down the field with 50 seconds left in the first half. Many other teams have scored on us much quicker than that (see AFA just before we got the ball), yet he gets conservative there?

That’s not winning football (or any sport or activity, for that matter).

This isn’t the first game he did that in and it won’t be his last.

I hope we don’t get a pushover AD who will allow this passivity to continue. That being said, the President waiting until 2022 to hire an AD screams to me that the President doesn’t want someone strong in that position. I hope that I’m wrong.

Any AD hire will check some boxes, the more boxes checked, the better. One of those boxes WILL NOT be ability.

So there was more Utah red wearing fans out at Allegiant last night than a UNLV regular season game. Go Rebels!!!

It is interesting that both of the teams in the MWC struggled to beat UNLV. When was the last time UNLV was ever competitive with the top of the MWC? While I think they have a long ways to go, and need to find a way to win the close games and not fall apart in other games, I think they are now closer to being competitive then they have been in the past. The key will be to not lose too many players to transfers, to be able to bring in key transfers to fill the voids, and to continue recruiting at the same level as in the past two seasons!

A 2 win season sucks. And I’m not a silver lining guy by nature. If you suck, you suck, don’t be afraid to call it out and admit it.

That said, I’m also fond of the “eye test”. I trust my eyes. That doesn’t mean I’m always right. But I believe in my eyes more than I believe a box score or game write up.

We had a few close losses. I don’t feel like we necessarily lost because we weren’t prepared, that we had in game coaching blunders, that schemes were complete trash or philosophy didn’t fit our personnel. I do think we were short talent at spots and depth.

So as much as 2 wins indeed sucks, this prone to pessimism guy had some optimism along the way and it grew because they became more consistent and more importantly, like many teams before this, they didn’t fold up their tents when faced with an o-fer.
