Appears there isn't much expected of this years basketball team. Who thinks we will overachieve and finish higher than 7th place?

I think we will finish higher than 7th. For a couple of reasons. I think the league is still piss poor in overall quality with several automatic wins - that goes for pretty much everyone though, but I think the Rebels will capitalize more than they have in the past. Secondly, I think that picking is based on recent history which is fair, what else do you have to go by? But the Mahvelous one was scared to play anybody of quality in the OOC, he constantly ducked teams and built OOC victories over the scrubbiest of Scrubs. That instilled zero confidence when they were embroiled in always tougher than expected conference games. Further, because he played such garbage teams, the Rebels were clueless during “winnin’ time”... conference games tend to be closer and tougher. Those Munchies teams were very ill prepared to perform in conference. Otz doesn’t have that “fool them on paper and turn the spin on full blast and try to get fans to follow the lie” mentality. He will have them ready to play. He’s already challenging them much more in OOC.

At least I hope that’s the case.

My guess is the Runnin Rebs finish in the 3-5 range. With the additions they made and the Otz's track record I don't think they fall too much.

I think the early games will be wild. Big losses, a couple wins, hard to get a gauge on what the team is. When conference rolls around, the team will develop its identity as people figure out their roles. Finish 5th and will win the first round of the conference tourney and lose the second game.

I hope we finish higher than that though.
