IF CKK is still around and can land this kid i would have some renewed UNLV luv. Kid is a Junior. The list of schools we are going against looks like a murders row.
Smart move. He’s here in between games for UNLV. He won’t get to see the lack of a crowd and quality of team. We can always show video of the MWCT with Wink and say that’s representative of the program.
If CKK was not a ex-UNLV player, ex coaches son and a likeable guy i would would want him gone in a second if we could get CM. Its not so much CKK it me. I am tired of this shit. Trying to hold on to hope year after year after year. It is diminishing as time goes by. I am afraid if we wait 3-4 years there might be nothing left. We will probably have NBA and maybe MLB. We need to build back our fan base ASAP. Hell should of done this 4-5 years ago before the Knights and Raiders. Then we would of had a solid base of fans.
UNLV's ceiling may be mediocrity now, and I think the administration is perfectly fine with that. The fans have moved on more or less, and the pro teams coming to Vegas will only make things tougher. If we can land elite talent, then we have a chance I guess, but it's going to be very tough. It's not quite hopeless like UNLV football, but we are getting close.
Short term, I'm more hopeful about football than basketball.
That we're still on his list is a minor victory. All we need is a shot.
And ALOT of appeal in the NIL package. If we can match the other schools on this list, I’ll be impressed.
Just would hope that the large discrepancy between player 1 and 2, not to mention 3-14 … would hope something like that wouldn’t lead to issues.
Not to take away from hoops at all, but for the future of our school, unless it's already too late, we would be better off getting big payouts for NIL in football and trying to get into one of the major conferences than we would to ignore football and try to regain steam in basketball. Granted, I'd rather have both, but if somehow we were able to turn the football team into a regional power in the next 2 years, maybe there's a play we could make to get into the PAC 12 or Big 12.
