This kid had already narrowed his list of offers to 5 schools of which we weren't one of them. Someone is doing some hella recruiting to nab him.
I don't see a high rating for him, but based on the list of offers, he must be something special. He was projected for Iowa from what I can read. The following offers are from Rivals (23 offers):

I always put more stock into which teams offer players that we get as well as the type of system said teams run.
I totally agree with your statement, Iowa has had a top 5 defense each of the last 3 years and a couple years ago had the number one defense in the nation.
They have built dominate defenses on under recruited players for the better part of 2 decades, same with the QB that was committed to MSU. When these power 5 kids are willing to accept a commitment from a kid they are more than good enough for us.
