Like I said before - I really love a LOT of the locals for this year, but I'd really like to see Brock Hershberger represent the valley. He's not family nor do I know him, but the potential seems fantastic to grow with this staff. I feel like I do have to disclose that I played at GV... long, long, time ago... so I'm always looking at the guys and I could see him as a Rebel.

Is his dad Eric? Went to grade school and high school with him at Gorman...

Tyler Thornton is a really interesting prospect. Long lanky kid, but a pretty good athlete. Looks like the type of kid you bring in to play TE but he could add enough size you switch him over to defensive end.

@willlevi couple of questions for you.

1)Who do you think is the better prospect between Grayson and Evans?

2)How much do you think I. Morris' lack of ideal size will effect his recruiting. The kid is electric, just wonder if his size will keep some programs away.

3) Tony Fields might be my favorite kid on the list. Looking into the future, where do you see him at the next level, SF or OLB. Right now he looks like a SF but seems like he could add the weight needed to play OLB.

1. Evans has the stronger arm, physical skills and ball security. I feel Martell would have a tough time beating him out in an open competion for a starting spot.
Grayson is also highly competitive and a very smart player as well with great quarterback skills.
Arbor View's Hayden Bollinger is another quarterback to watch this spring.

2. Morris size will limit some of his options but he is a legit playmaker that can be a dynamic weapon.

3. Fields will be a linebacker. He has room for continued physical development that should see him bulk up in college to the 220 range and he can carry 235

Great stuff^^^^
I also expect to see three more offered very soon.

He wanted to play at the FBS level. He made an impression at SOU and saw immediate playing time.
He has only played running back as a youth/high school player and slot at SOU. I hoped he would stick it out at SOU.

Why would you want him to stick it out at SOU?

I feel there is more opportunity at a 4 year program that physically recruits you and are willing to invest in your development than to walk on at any program. Its a good fit for some kids but SOU has seen several players from the valley become impact players

So you don't think walking on at UNLV was the right move?

Not picking an argument here just that you mentioned he wanted to play at the FBS level and now he is getting a chance.

He and Jacobi Owens are actually my family members.
To me, its never about playing FBS rather than it being the best place to get on the field to display your talents. Its a choice and hopefully he will gain an opportunity to make an impact.

I hopes so as well. Good luck to both of them...

I strongly suggest that you add >

Brock Ruggeroli
LBer
Bishop Gorman
6'3"
195 lbs
Could be the break out recruit of the year. Since he wasn't a full time starter at Gorman last season, the services don't know about him but coaches across the country are taking notice. The kid is ripped and still growing. Excellent testing numbers. His dad was a starting TE at Utah State.

Has he been offered?
That's a legacy name right there (Gorman).

Yeah, I was surrounded in class by a couple of them in the mid 80's at Gorman. Work with his great aunt now - her and that entire family were at Gorman in the 60's.
Looks like his dad, who grew to around 6'5", graduated in 1980, but I believe that he had younger brothers who would have been at Gorman when you were there. His mom is tall for a female so he should grow a bit more.

Nick was younger than Dr Edward (who is the one that played TE at Utah State) and a all conference defensive end for Fresno State. Dr Charles Ruggeroli is the oldest and was tight end and played basketball for UNLV. He actually transferred to Western his junior or senior year. They are all around 6'4"-6'5".

FWIW - Brock showed very well at the Pylon 7on7 Tourney. Why he isn't listed in the RIVALS data base is a bit confusing.

Kid is a late bloomer and is going to be really good. Brock is long and rangy with excellent closing speed. I heard at 7 on 7 he is up to 195 with a huge wingspan (6'7). I was impressed with his ability to turn and run with slot receivers while showing nice anticipation and route recognition. Going to be fun to watch at Gorman this year especially if he comes in at 205 or better. Very physical player last year and was the wedge buster for #1 team in country at 180lbs. Hitter

I was also impressed with the Francis kid from Gorman as well. Big upside
