$10 Million NIL Offer

The point will come where people figure out that you are paying $10 million to a player that would be at best a water boy for a pro team.
Or they will figure out that pricing out teams such as WV, Nebraska, Missouri etc who can't pay that kind of money for a player will turn fans off. If you get to the point where only a handful of teams are really good it will erode ratings of other schools.

So about $2.5 per season. what of this is guaranteed isn’t it year to year and UM can pull the NIL if he doesn’t work out? He isn’t getting $10 million the day he arrives and if he transfers he doesn’t take $10 million with him.

Michigan staff is desperate after this year, the kid will come in and start, if not, who ever is paying this kid will be pissed. Hopefully kid got a good financial advisor and he's set for life.

Why 4 years...the way these NIL deals work kid can go to UM for the 10 million, be terrible or average, get recruited over, transfer and collect another 3 or 4 somewhere else...
Nobody writes a check this large without a contract stating who does what, for how much and for how long. Additionally, I wonder over what time period these NIL's are made. Is it $ 10 mil now or $ 10 mil over 10 years?

Financial advisor my ass. I look good in blue. Thank you NIL.

Its the NIL. They arent putting performance guarantees on it to get you to flip from LSU to Michigan. They are throwing a number at you to get you to flip and then hoping you work out. And no top tier athlete is taking a 10 year contract for NIL payouts when they can get an immediate 3 or 4 million dollar cash flow easily.

Where did you get this information?

ITs all about building a BRAND. These schools (mostly P4) are able to do this because of it. Plus some of these schools are 100 years old and have a lot of alumni. That is why IMO i think UNLV has a lot of upside, More than 99.9% of the schools outside the P4 and more than 50% of them. Never going to be able to outbid the likes of Texas and Alabama to name a couple. Luckly for us Odom and STAFF know this and is doing a great job at establishing it.

I'm sure boosters actually love the NIL. Everything is out in the open. Gone are the days where a recruit can take a bag full of cash and sign somewhere else.

10 mil is ridiculous, but I'm sure it has some contract connected to it, perhaps bonuses for a multitude of years. I can almost gaurantee that Michigan/its boosters aren't paying him the full 10 milly if he transfers after next season.

I'm assuming you meant to say that they are NOT paying him 10 mil if he transfers.

They got to have that money loaded on the backend on his senior year. 10m is crazy! At that point, he's an employee. He'd better play the bowl games/ CFB.

Crazy how much money is involved now, but I guess it was always there. It's just out in the open now
One of my buddies got $25,000 to go to a D2 as a PG back in the late 80’s, early 90’s. He’s had no reason to lie about it all of these years. In fact, it took some prying to get it out of him.

Imagine how much UCLA, duke, us, etc were paying years ago. (Yes, we did it, too).

There’s a reason Tark liked his transfers who already had their cars.

I’m pretty sure this is spread out over the 4 years and is based upon him staying that long.
