10-0 to start the season

The 2010-2011 Rebel team went 9 and 0 before dropping a game to Louisville. The last time 10 and 0 was achieved would have to be in the early 90's years then.

If we're still undefeated after Jan 11 then I'll get legitimately excited. For right now it's just nice.
Agree, come Jan 11th we should have a better idea where this team will end. I don’t think we have to be undefeated at that point but not starting 1-3 in conference would be nice.

It is strange year as it is tough to have any sense of what is real and what is not with the conference teams (including UNLV). You are usually able to get a good feel for teams prior to conference but this year just seems to be harder. Probably due to all the transfers, weak scheduling by a lot of the conference and injuries to some key players.

What do you make of Boise? What about Utah St, somehow a worse schedule than us? New Mexico, even worse schedule than Utah St at this point, but might have the best win in at St. Mary’s? SDSU, some good losses and some not so good wins, Ohio State is the best with nothing else? Wyoming a top 3 team preseason to most but ugly because of injuries (although I felt it would be tough for them to rerun last year as teams adjust to them in the offseason)? What is happening with CSU?

If I had to guess, Wyoming will improve, SDSU will be top 2 probably first if they don’t have too many bad shooting nights. Utah St will be better than UNM and Boise. UNLV will be top 4 with Utah St. I think the one thing that might have some impact is the unbalanced schedule if the conference is going to schedule crap OOC might as well play 20 conference game.

Based on Massey ratings, the following is strength of schedule:

SDSU 17
BSU 67
unr 68
Fresno St. 77
Utah St. 106
CSU 117
New Mexico 151
UNLV 188
SJSU 209
Wyoming 223
Air Force 338

UNLV is near the bottom based on strength of schedule which means we really will need them to step it up over the next month in order to make an impact on a national level. It doesn't hurt that the top half of the MWC appears to be far better this year than last year.

It's to bad Ike has been out for Wyoming. Their rating would be much higher with him playing I believe.
