    Let’s See

Aha!...Now I get why we've got different takes.. While I’ve been sweating the games, you’ve been counting the gate. Ha! That was a bit of a cheap shot. and for that I apologize. I accept the reality that the program must generate revenue in order to succeed. Plus, a robust crowd at The Mack is...

    Let’s See

Pete, Pete…You really are a glutton for punishment. You’ll never get through to these pall bearers. They are stone cold determined to bury Menzies, and no wins, no signs of good play, of energy or fortitude (read:toughness), or god forbid, good coaching (!) will dissuade them from their mission...

Wow did this site go dead after the AF game!

After a game like Air Force, I avoid Rebel-Net for a few days, so that doom-sayers, who’ve been demanding the head of Marvin Menzies since the pre-season, may revel in their “told-ya-so” moment. I believe they’re never so joyful as after a bad loss (see this thread). I’m well-aware that I’m due...

    Los Lobos

125-84 That's the combined 2nd half scores of our three MWC games. Or +13.67 average per. If I didn't know better (having read the Rebel-Net posts, so I realize that he sucks), I might think that the Coach knows something about half-time adjustments. Must be dumb luck...:eyes:

Right! Who is this NEH-VAH-DAH of which you speak? :basketball: :basketball: :basketball:

    They suck!

Clap! Clap! Clap! What a terrific post, khokhol8. It’s refreshing to hear someone who doesn’t think that year 3 (actually 2) of the Marvin Menzies era is enough to conclude that changing coaches again, is the answer to turning the Rebels into a Sweet-Sixteen team. I completely agree that we’ve...

    They suck!

Lol! Not hardly, but I’m hoping for maybe five years… And it's not all about me. Lucky for me, when I was in my prime, so were the Rebels. I'd like to think that they will eventually be a force for my offspring's (children's...grandchildren's) enjoyment. Go Rebels!

    They suck!

I was just watching Nebraska @ Maryland. The Terps eked out a 2-point win, so things will change, but coming into the game, the Cornhuskers were 11-2 and ranked #24. I recalled when Tim Miles left success at Colorado St in 2012. He has spent 6 seasons toiling in obscurity in the Big 10 (with...

    Go Rebels!

Did we just jog up the court and go for a layup down by 4?

Okay, the ghost of Bird is laughing at the ghost of LJ & Stacey. Or to put them in their proper chronological perspective, the ghost of Easy Eddie, Gonzo, Reggie and all three Smiths. Although our first great FF team (we wuz robbed!), came a year before Larry’s team that got beat for the NC by...

    A win is a win is a win ...

I believe I’ve discovered the key to improving the play of our guys. No sooner did I submit an opinion about Robotham’s disappointing play, and...Voila!...He comes through as the hero in OT. And how about those free throws! Even Diong was knockin’ ‘em down. It was most encouraging. I’m really...

    SMH Menzies

Yeah, we should absolutely dump his sorry ass. Let’s hire Pitino. He hasn’t been indicted yet. And when he loses a game, we’ll 86 him, and see if Phil Jackson wants a job. Or…we could give the man a full rotation of recruits, and see how they look after year 4 or 5. But that would require...

    Fire Menzies Immediately

Yep...Let's change Head Coach every 3 years. A surefire recipe for success! GO REBELS!

Another bad team beating up on UNLV so far! (F for coaching)

If he’s not a PG, and his shooting is iffy, at best, what’s his value to the team? A lock-down defender? I’m not seeing it. I was under the impression that he had been a PG at Akron.Your response sent me to a little research. He played 88 games at Akron. He scored 828 points which comes to 9.4...

Another bad team beating up on UNLV so far! (F for coaching)

I believe that Rebel-Net fans that have paid the slightest attention to my contributions over these past, difficult seasons of Rebel basketball, might have noted that I usually try to remain as positive as possible. One thing that I’ve rarely, if ever done, is single out any player for their...

    Tough Evening

Sure it’s a bad loss. It will bite us in March, in the unlikely event that we're NCAA-eligible. But I prefer to look at it in a positive light. We didn’t lose to LMU because they were so good. We blew that game because we sucked. But the last two games have been very different. As the...

    Brandon McCoy

That’s interesting. That tells us that Brandon really does want to be an NBA player. But Scrub is right. Unless he miraculously starts to play some defense, hell never see the floor. But defense isn’t like natural talent or being blessed with 7 feet of height. Its all work. And who knows, maybe...

    Brandon McCoy

What a disappointing day for McCoy, and by extension, the Rebels. When we played the Wildcats last year, he played Ayton to a virtual standstill. Okay, that’s a bit of hyperbole, but it wasn’t much of a stretch to envision that the two high-school buddies could’ve gone very high in the draft...

OT: Best and worst streets to Travel in Vegas?

Two nominees for worst. Blue Diamond from Vegas to Pahfump and I-95, pretty much anywhere. Both are death traps. I've seen more fatalities on both, than anywhere else in the valley. I recommend avoiding, whenever possible.
