    OT: Judge commits suicide

I don't think I knew Richard. But if his brother was a few years younger, I'm sure his younger brother crossed paths with one my brothers at some point. I think it was most likely your younger cousin who was teammates with my brother. If I remember correctly, your cousin really hurt his ankle...

    OT: Judge commits suicide

Danny was a nice guy. His older brother (who also played at Valley) coached me in little league. Real shame what happened to his arm. My brother played baseball with a number of those guys from Valley (Houston, Doug Mirabelli, Steve Rodriguez). Mirabelli and Rodriguez were good guys, but...

    OT: Judge commits suicide

My brother played basketball at Gorman and he scrimmaged against both Williams and Othick. My brother did get called up on the varsity at the end of Othick's senior year where played a garbage minute in the '88 state title game. My brother and I went to Magic Mountain in the summer of '88 and...

Most entertaining game of all time? UNLV vs UtAh State 1985??

The 85 Rebels team was a pretty talented group. Adams Gilliam Frank James Banks Anthony Jones They should have went farther in the tournament. That Kentucky game was a brutal.

    35 years ago..the 1987 Final Four Team

The officiating was nowhere near the same level of one-sidedness as the '77 and '91 Final Four games. But Indiana got away with a ton of moving screens to get shots open for Alford and Smart.

    35 years ago..the 1987 Final Four Team

That's Bobby Knight was so impressed with Tark'. He got his teams to play phenomenally hard. It's not easy to push your team to the limit and not have disgruntled players. Tark was able to do it because his players knew he was the real deal and they respected the hell out of him.

    35 years ago..the 1987 Final Four Team

I attended the UNLV basketball camp in the last 80s which Grgurich ran. At one point, they showed a video sent by Musberger to UNLV where Brent apologized to Tark and the school for completely screwing up the Oklahoma game replay to the officials.

This is what I would have expected

Assuming Augmon's migraine issue was resolved by Monday - theres no question UnLV would have curb stomped Kansas. Unlv would have been laser focused bent on revenge from the year before. It would've taken a monumental effort to foul out the entire starting lineup for Kansas to keep it close.

This is what I would have expected

It's quite evident that St Coach K told his players that if UNLV had any open fast break opportunities, Duke players were to intentionally foul them. Hunt got fouled on two outrageously dirty plays. Think about how the game ended up. Its incredible. There were four bogus fouls on Greg...

    Coach or covid talk

If we lived in a serious country where our health leaders actually cared for its people, instead of closing gyms and getting free fast food in exchanged for getting the jab, our leaders should have been promoting staying fit, getting Vitamin D, etc.

    Coach or covid talk

Israeli scientific studies have strongly concluded that the natural immunity from a previous Covid infection is significantly stronger than the immunity afforded by the vaccines. Israeli studies have also concluded that the vaccines have strongly waned in effectiveness within 2 months of...

    Coach or covid talk

There are have been approximately 500 children under the age of 18 that have died of COVID since the beginning of the pandemic. To be that in perspective, the death rate for Covid for children is lower than what it is for influenza in a typical flu season. I'd say conservatively at least 97%...

    Coach or covid talk

There are no legitimate scientific study with an actual, effective control group that reflects that cloth masks do anything to stop stopping the spread or transmission of Covid. Forcing a child to wear a cloth mask for eight hours during school is all theater. It isn't protecting anyone...

This is from the CDC's own website. https://www.cdc.gov/media/releases/2021/s0730-mmwr-covid-19.html Today, some of those data were published in CDC’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR), demonstrating that Delta infection resulted in similarly high SARS-CoV-2 viral loads in...
