Have to agree. You don't give up on a top 100 recruit like Baxter when you're already talent deficient unless you have a very good reason.
 
Regarding Baxter, the word is that he was a prima donna who showed little interest in learning to become proficient at defense. Not Menzies' type of player.

Poyser was expected. He pouted his way through the entire conference season. He was sure to go. Truthfully, I'm sorriest to see Morgan leave. I know he was limited offensively, but he was a good defender, and I thought he might develop nicely over the next three years. Think Justin Hawkins.But I can't blame him for going. With more talented guards coming in, he probably saw little chance for increased PT.

That said, I wish them all success in their future endeavors.
