AF fan here who 'will' be in the T&M for the game. Looking for a good game with no injuries. Anxious to see who actually suits up for both teams.

New Seasons begin vs UNLV for both Air Force Basketball teams
(www.ricksfalconreview.blogspot.com)

New seasons for the Air Force men's and women's team begin with UNLV. Our Lady Falcons fought the Lady Rebels (and the refs IMHO) in their opening tournament game playing tough but losing on Monday night. It ends the 2015-2016 season for them and first year head coach Coach Gobrecht, who now begins preparing for the new season in 2016-2017 with her first full year of not only coaching but recruiting.

AF readies itself for Vegas
CJ Siples shows growth despite tragedy
Jacob Van does not stall and keeps on going

Our men's Falcon team started with the year broken into three seasons and have completed the first two (OOC and regular season MWC play) and now begin the third which is post-season play against a physical UNLV team. AF lost the first game at UNLV by 30+ but came back to shock UNLV with a win at Clune. While the Falcons have worked through many issues to include the loss of starters Lyons and Manning along with Louder off the bench UNLV is without forward Carter lossed due to injury and now their second scorer Jones Jr. is out due to an academic issue. Several others are nursing nagging injuries but all should play. Big man Zimmerman, who did not play in game two that AF won, is back and playing well off his injury gathering in 11 rebounds in each of his last two games.

For AF to win on UNLVs home court the Falcons MUST start aggressive and set the tone early to quiet what might be a smaller UNLV crowd than normally seen. The Falcons must find a way to neutralize the big man inside to not totally stop him from scoring, but more importantly from dominating the boards. UNLV shot only 4-29 from the arc in the loss last game to SDSU and before that 6-18 vs BSU. If the Falcons can play tough inside and aggressively find the shooter on the arc they can be in this game. Offensively it comes down to letting the ball due the work, do not stand around, cut hard and force UNLV to defend for 40 minutes. Lastly and most importantly, the AF bigs must stay out of foul trouble and someone must 'stand up tall' and give good minutes offensively, defensively and on the boards in relief of Frank Toohey with the anticipated absence of Zach Moer in the lineup.

Big game with big returns for a win (YOU GET TO PLAY AGAIN) but the season is over and 2016-2017 begins just like the women with a loss.

GOOD LUCK AND GO FALCONS, BEAT UNLV

Had to smirk a little at the injuries comment. I know you mean well with it. I've never seen a more injured UNLV team in 30 years.

I appreciate your interest and enthusiasm. However if memory serves, you are a big fat JINX. Everytime you do your pregame thing here, we lose to stupid Air Force. Please never post here before games. TAKE A HiKE!!! Thanks!

Also, if moderators could delete his game day posts, that'd be great too...

Ruppert Mundys - 67
Air Force - 63

With all of the injuries and other drama this year, I can't help but think of the Ruppert Mundys. Still hope we win.

What a pathetic excuse of a team, including players AND coaches! What an absolutely embarrassment. Wow.

Zim would be the second coming of Myers Leonard if he went to the NBA.

But props to the rest of the team. They sure played hard today

Ya know, there was a lot of fun stuff in that game.

If we weren't all such negative nellies, and justifiably so, we could enjoy:

Triple overtime win, just what we need is 3 overtimes;

Dave Hall puttin' it to us again;

Nwamu getting 38;

McCaw still being a beast (looking forward to seeing him again next year. Love his game and attitude).

Cheaney having a game to be proud of forever.
